Design sprints — for
building big ideas, fast.

Design sprints are a rapid and collaborative method of turning an idea or concept into a usable digital product. This exciting approach can save money, minimise risk and reduce development time. Ready? Set? Sprint.

Prioritising people and product.

There are two clear aims of a design sprint. Firstly, to bring key stakeholders (and even potential users) together – allowing a diverse and rounded discussion around objectives and challenges. And secondly, to understand if the product idea itself is viable and what needs to change if it's not.

Kyan design sprints are typically spread across five-day windows. As a team (agency and client), we begin by understanding the scope of the work and identifying challenges before moving on to conversations around solutions. From here, we can make firm assumptions about what a prototype should look like.

Finally, we will test the prototype with real users. In any product design and development process, validation is vital. By observing how the product is used, identifying any patterns and analysing the group’s feedback, we can make the necessary changes to the design and functionality of the product.

Roundtable or remote

Kyan's design sprint sessions are interactive and productive, and we have even been able to tailor the in-person experience for remote and hybrid organisations. Of course, we will always encourage being in the same room where possible, but tools such as Miro and Figjam make online sprints an immersive experience with equally exceptional results.

Monday

Understand

We identify your users, define the challenges and establish our focus.

Tuesday

Solve

Lightning Demos: a sketch exercise followed by product storyboarding.

Wednesday

Prototype

We refine the journey flow and layouts through more defined designs.

Thursday

Prototype

We create a high-fidelity and usable digital prototype based on our findings.

Friday

Validate

We test the prototype with real users and compile observations and feedback.

Your design sprint deliverables

By day five, you'll have an interactive, high-fidelity prototype demonstrating your product's appearance and function. This isn't just a mockup – it feels and acts like a real-world digital product that can be taken forward to the next stage.

At this point in the project, you can choose to progress to a production sprint. This is where we take everything we know, along with the prototype itself, and start the development of the product for eventual launch and release.

Build your dream team

A Design Sprint is the perfect opportunity to bring together the best brains in your business, and ours too.

Get to know your users

Identify your users during discovery and meet them during testing. Even better — put your product in their hands.

Collaborative thinking

The roundtable approach to Design Sprints is a hotbed for collaboration and idea sharing. No more siloed teams.

Validated work...

A validated product means it’s been tested, it fulfills the objectives of the brief, and it’s been tailored to the user.

...and low risk

When the market viability of a platform or app can be proven with quantifiable data, it’s far easier to pitch or sell.

A trusted partner

Day Five isn’t the end of the relationship. We like to see products all the way through to launch and beyond.
